Community Eating Disorder Service
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Eating Disorder Team / Adult Eating Disorder Teams
Our teams work closely with young people and their families within the community to treat and support them with Eating Disorders.
Referrals to CAMHS are accepted up until the age of 18 from GP’s, School Nurses, Paediatricians and other healthcare professionals. Parent / carers and young people can also self-refer to CAMHS using our online referral form.
Wider CAMHS and external professionals can also access consultation via a request for involvement.
The team are commissioned to treat:
- Anorexia Nervosa
- Bulimia Nervosa
- ARFID from the age of 12 years
We work collaboratively with young people, families and carers to offer psychoeducation and treatment around eating disorders.
We seek to achieve:
- Physical stabilisation and weight restoration
- Behavioural change
- Family support and psychoeducation
- Psychological and emotional health
- Relationship recovery
- Social recovery
Accessing our service
The care team may consist of:
Consultant Psychiatrist, Specialist Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Trainee Nurse Associate, Psychologists, CBT Psychotherapists, Speech and Language Therapist, Systemic Family Psychotherapists, Dietitians, Consultant paediatricians and Community Support Workers.
We also have volunteers with lived experience who offer parent peer to peer support and co-facilitate a monthly support group.
We are an all age pathway with the Adult Community Eating Disorder Service and support with continuing care if a young person is near the age of 18 and needs ongoing treatment with the Eating Disorder.
Our main base is at Hopewood in Nottingham but we also provide clinics in, Keyworth, Mansfield, Balderton and Langold, some appointments may be carried out at home, other community settings and virtually if deemed appropriate.
Parking and disabled access are available at all of our sites.

You can be referred to this service by a healthcare or educational professional. Parents / carers and young people can also self-refer for CAMHS support using our online form or by calling 0115 854 2299.
Service opening hours
Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm.
For urgent support out of hours please call the 24/7 Crisis Team on 0808 196 3779.
Alternatively, if you do not feel able to keep yourself safe please present at your nearest A&E department.
