Winners in this category will demonstrate their commitment to promoting an inclusive culture, where diversity is celebrated, and people are valued for being who they are*.
Nominations for this award can be made for individuals and teams.
In addition to the core criteria the judges will be looking for evidence of:
- Commitment to promoting and advancing EDI principles within the NHS, including initiatives to improve representation, tackle discrimination and / or disadvantage and promote a more inclusive culture.
- Achieved measurable and positive outcomes related to EDI. This could be evident in improved patient experiences, enhanced employee satisfaction, or increased diversity within leadership and workforce.
- Collaborating with others across the system or wider to address EDI challenges.
- Engagement with patients, carers and communities to decision making processes, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and represented in healthcare planning and delivery.
- Tackling health inequalities and disparities among different population groups such as ethnic minorities, LGBT+ communities, or disabled people.
