Aims of the session
To understand when a child may be unwell and need medical review.
Objectives of the session
- To recognise signs and symptoms that a child / young person is unwell
- To know when it is appropriate to seek medical review
- To be aware of sepsis signs and symptoms
Teaching and learning strategy
A variety of teaching and learning strategies will be facilitated during the theory sessions to include presentations, question and answer sessions, and scenario-based learning.
Target audience
This session is only available for staff working in a children’s residential care setting.
Delivery format and duration
- Face to face: 35 minutes
- MST: 25 minutes
- Moodle: available for annual update
