We aim to provide
- Training that is accessible to all.
- Training developed in close collaboration with services caring for the child / young person.
- Training that is in line with local guidance and meets local and national standards.
- Training that is regularly evaluated and reviewed.
- Training that is evidence based.
- Training that is enjoyable and ensures the safety of children and young people.
- Training that encompasses the NHS England’s 6 C’s - Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment.
Who are we?
We are a team of registered nurses with a range of experience caring for children and young people within hospital and community settings.
The Team is employed by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and are part of the Community Children and Young People’s Service.
Who can access the Training Team training?
The Community Children’s Training Team is accessible for any service caring for a young person within Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County.
Training is provided in settings and to people who are non-health professionals in areas including but not exclusive to:
- Education
- Early Years
- Short Breaks and Residential services
- Foster carers, sitters and befrienders
- Carers within the home (such as those funded by direct payments / personal health budgets)
- Other independent care providers
Training is free of charge to non-profit making organisations. If you are not sure if you have to pay, please contact us to discuss.
If you are required to pay for training, a quote will be provided to you on acceptance of your referral.
Currently we do not provide training to parents, however we can in some circumstances train family members who are regular carers.
