We are very proud of our district nurse, Rebecca Lee, who has received a Cavell Star award. An inspiring national awards programme, Cavell Star Awards are given to nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare assistants who shine bright and show exceptional care to one of three groups of people, their colleagues, their patients or patients’ families
Becky Sutton, Executive Director of Community Health Services said:
“Congratulations to Rebecca on this brilliant achievement. She is fantastic nurse who does an incredible job supporting both her patients and colleagues. Well done Rebecca, thoroughly deserved.”
Leah Burton, Community Staff Nurse, decided to nominate Rebecca as a way to say thank you for being such a supportive manager since starting as a newly qualified community nurse. Her nursing career hadn’t started off brilliantly but since being in the community with Rebecca as her team leader she gained confidence and skills she never thought she would. She said: “I couldn’t say thank you enough to Rebecca for being such a great role model so when I learned about the Cavell Star Award I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than Rebecca. I hope this award shows how great she is, Thank you Rebecca”
Rebecca commented:
“Receiving the Cavell Star Award was a wonderful surprise. I am so grateful that Leah has taken time out of her day to nominate me, it has been an incredible morale boost for me in what has been a difficult year. I feel very proud of this achievement and hope I can continue to have a positive influence as a nurse leader throughout the rest of my career”
