Julie Bolus Rising Star Nursing Award nominations
We are very proud of Diane Goddard, Safeguarding Lead and Bethany Liddington, Community Staff Nurse, who have been nominated for the Julie Bolus Rising Star Award in the Good Governance Institute awards.
Bethany was nominated by Deborah Towers, Clinical Lead, Stapleford and Beeston Locality, Nottingham West. Bethany first became known to the team a couple of years ago when she was a student nurse and enjoyed the community as a place to work.
She had a really good placement with the Stapleford District Nursing team and recognised community nursing was where she wanted to work once she had qualified.
She was really committed to this and independently joined the bank, so she was able to have extra shifts with us to gain further experience.
Deborah said: “Alongside her training, she’s had to overcome a number of personal challenges, including becoming deaf. She has not let this stop her and finished her training, sourced equipment she needed to support her and qualified in June this year.
“Bethany is very popular in the team and with patients , she is the kind of nurse I would want to be looking after me, she is kind, gentle, empathetic and compassionate”.
“She is a really lovely person; an amazing nurse and she is a great asset to the team and Nottingham West. She has shown she will overcome any challenges put in her way to be a fantastic nurse who has a very bright future ahead of her.”
Diane's manager, Helen Pritchett said:
"Diane is an invaluable member of the safeguarding team. She is excellent at recognising gaps in service provision and thinking about the specific needs of individuals. Diane is very hardworking and works with tenacity in ensuring that service users are protected from the risk of harm."
Wishing them both lots of luck.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 29 November.
