Professional development

We offer many professional development opportunities for those working with children and young people.

Our Talking Together service could be for you if you are a teacher, teaching assistant, childminder, work in an after-school setting or are an early years practitioner. Our service is also available for people who work outside of Nottinghamshire.

Language Leads Networks

In this session we will discuss the developmental stages of attention and listening, how to identify these and strategies to help develop these skills with children in your settings.

Research is showing that more children are starting school with poor attention and listening skills that impact upon their communication skills. We will look at why this is happening and risk factors that may be contributing towards this.

The session will also include:

• Local and national updates
• Time to share ideas with other Language Leads – please be ready to join in with the discussions in small groups
• Winter and Christmas themed signing practice
