The future
We want to ensure that our activity makes a difference to the services and lives of people and as part of this we will continue to develop work on assessing the impact of our work.
Our key challenges and plans over the next year are to:
- Refresh our Involvement Strategy to focus on involvement and co-production priorities in the Trust and wider system, increase the numbers and diversity of those involved, and increase the capacity to work in partnership with people across the organisation.
- Effectively advise and support the Quality Improvement Team so that QI projects work with service users and carers and listen to their experiences. We will look to provide advice, resources and information that enables teams to increasingly have the skills and knowledge in this area.
- Increase patient and carer feedback particularly further increase SMS feedback and in areas and from communities where we are hearing little.
- work with services so they are clear both on what patients and carers are saying about services, and respond to issues raised and ensure staff hear positive feedback.
- To continue to make progress on our priority to increasingly hear and work with people from the diverse range of communities the organisation provides care for as this requires partnership working and building and sustaining relationships. We will work with equality, diversity and inclusion leads and other partners to have a coherent and co-ordinated approach.
- Continue refining our approach to volunteering, increasing the range and diversity of volunteers and involvement partners, expanding and enhancing the Volunteer Visitor Programme at Rampton,
with goals to double the number of volunteers and to report on the impact this expansion has on the patient population. We will continue to improve materials and training to support staff and use both virtual and face to face approaches. - Continue working with staff and carers to improve how we meet our carer expectations including that services will always communicate with, involve and offer support to carers/families, unless there is a very good reason not to.
- Continue to work with teams across the Trust around the Triangle of Care ensuring action is taken at team and Trust level to meet the six standards.
