Nottinghamshire Healthcare has won a second NHS Forest award for ‘Pioneering use of green space by healthcare professionals’ for the Trust’s Green Hub, a green social prescribing webpage which launched in March 2022.
The resources on the Green Hub include monthly ideas of garden activities, opportunities to make your garden more wildlife friendly and inspiration for how the Trust’s greenspaces are used. There is an ever-growing body of research around the role of green therapeutic interventions in improving health and wellbeing, especially our mental health.
The site can be used by clinicians, service users, patients, and the public to access a wealth of information and Trust staff can “prescribe” the Green Hub directly from Recap. The resources also contribute to the Trust’s Green Plan. Visit the Green Hub here: https://www.nottinghamshirehealthcare.nhs.uk/green-hub
The awards were announced as part of the NHS Forest conference which took place on Wednesday 19 October. You can read about the Trust’s other NHS Forest award here. A huge congratulations to all involved in this fantastic achievement.
