Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to announce that Ifti Majid has been appointed as the Trust’s new Chief Executive.
Ifti, formerly Chief Executive of Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, takes up his new role today (Thursday 1 December 2022).
Nottinghamshire Healthcare is one of the largest mental health and community Trusts in England, employing more than 9,000 staff and providing services from over 257 locations.
A mental health nurse by background, with significant experience of effective leadership, Ifti is a perfect fit for Nottinghamshire Healthcare having held several nursing management posts before being promoted through senior management and executive roles.
He also holds a number of national positions, including Chair of the NHS Confederation’s Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Network, and Co-Chair of their BME Leadership Network.
On his new role, Ifti says: “It’s a privilege to be appointed as Nottinghamshire Healthcare’s Chief Executive. Alongside its diverse range of services, the Trust has an inspiring vision, strong values, dedicated staff and big ambitions.
“My aim is to continue to improve services for local people and communities. I’m incredibly passionate about making a difference and am ready to seize this fantastic opportunity to lead the Trust on a journey to excellence across a regional and national footprint, helping to make it a great place to work and receive care.”
Trust Chair Paul Devlin says: “I am delighted with Ifti’s appointment. His strong values and leadership, together with his previous experience, will be a great asset to the Trust in driving us to the next stage of our improvement journey.
“Ifti’s experience as a clinician and as a transformational leader, alongside his reputation for prioritising both outstanding patient care and staff wellbeing, will support our vision to make a difference to our communities by delivering the highest quality physical and mental health care and by tackling inequalities.”
Ifti succeeds previous substantive Chief Executive, Dr John Brewin, who retired in August 2022.
