Trust staff shortlisted in national MyCleaning awards
A local NHS domestic cleaner and a domestic supervisor have both been shortlisted in the national MyCleaning Awards, in association with NHS England.
Geraldine Needham, Domestic Cleaner at Nottinghamshire Healthcare has been shortlisted in the Domestic of the Year category after going above and beyond in her role every day. She is so appreciated by her colleagues she received an amazing nine nominations.
Sue Benstead, Domestic Supervisor at the Trust has been shortlisted in the Lifetime Achievement Award category after working at Arnold Lodge, medium secure unit for 33 years. Her dedication to the unit and patients is outstanding, she always puts them first, understanding the importance of high standards of cleanliness.

“Huge congratulations to Geraldine and Sue on being shortlisted in these awards. They are both integral members of their teams and well regarded by their colleagues. They have a fantastic work ethic and are committed to creating the best possible environment for their colleagues and patients. Wishing them the best of luck for the next stage.”
Geraldine’s nominators commented how she is highly efficient and accountable in how she goes about her work. She is always extremely professional and always goes above and beyond in keeping the office a clean and efficient place to work. Her nominators also mentioned how they have the great pleasure of seeing Geraldine most mornings and get to experience her friendly and loving persona. Geraldine has a heart of gold and shares her generosity, with those lucky enough to see her!
Geraldine said “It’s lovely to be recognised by my colleagues in this way. I’ve been very fortunate working for the Trust and work with some wonderful people. You get out of job what you’re prepared to put in and should always treat people how you like to be treated.”
Sue’s nomination mentioned how her view is that if things need looking at, then why wait for tomorrow when you can easily get it done today! This was paramount throughout the last few years with Covid-19. She is well known by staff due to her outstanding knowledge of the site and her attitude of getting things done quickly, she is well-liked character and an important member of the facilities team.
Sue said:
“It’s lovely to be nominated, whether I win or don’t win it’s been a great achievement for me. I really enjoy my job, part of that includes interacting with patients and staff which I thoroughly enjoy. I’m committed to doing the best job I can and delighted to be put forward for this award”
