The Trust has been shortlisted in three categories in the NHS Sustainability Awards, hosted by the NHS Sustainable Development Unit and Barts Health Trust.
The Trust’s Environmental Team’s application featured various work undertaken across the Trust to enhance environmental sustainability performance. This includes the new energy centre opened at Rampton Hospital, a therapeutic green space created at the Wells Road Centre and an environmental awareness calendar to engage with staff and services users.
It’s not the first time the Trust has been recognised for the awards; last year the Trust was highly commended in the IT, Clinical and HR categories. This year the team beat off tough competition from across the country to make it to the final 42 shortlisted. Winners will be announced during the awards night at Birmingham Town Hall on 27 April 2016.
The NHS Sustainability Awards celebrate organisations that have striven to implement change, whilst demonstrating engagement with staff and the public. The awards aim to encourage and reward action on creating a more sustainable NHS.
