Nottinghamshire tooth fairies go on tour

This summer, the Trust will be offering a unique opportunity to meet their very own tooth fairies from its Oral Health Promotion team. The team, known as the Nottinghamshire tooth fairies, will be offering Tales with the Tooth Fairies sessions throughout August, with the aim of offering key oral health messages in a fun and exciting way to families with young children.

The 45-minute sessions will be offered at larger venues across Nottinghamshire including Newstead Abbey, Warsop Summer Festival, Wollaton Park, Sherwood Forest and Sherwood Pines.

Each session will highlight the importance of tickling teeth (daily toothbrushing) by sharing a story from the tooth fairies’ new book ‘A visit from the Tooth Fairy’. This is the latest in a line of extremely popular books written by the tooth fairies which have been sold nationally’.  They will also include songs, craft activities, a fairy trail and goodies to take home.

Julia Wilkinson, Head of Oral Health Promotion at the Trust (and Head Tooth Fairy) said:

“Tooth Fairies on Tour is a brand-new initiative, building on the huge success of our ‘Tales with the Tooth Fairy’ sessions previously delivered in local schools and early years settings. We are delighted to be offering these family friendly sessions at some of Nottinghamshire’s most beautiful and iconic settings. Each session is packed with activities to keep the children engaged while they learn about looking after their super smiles.”

Becky Sutton, Executive Director of Community Health Services, said “This fantastic latest initiative will further enhance the team’s work to share preventative oral health messaging with children and families across Nottinghamshire. These accessible sessions will offer vital information, resources and support to families with oral health concerns, helping to reduce oral health inequalities.”

Each event is slightly different to embrace the special qualities offered by each venue.   Booking is essential for all events, further details below:
