Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has today published an ambitious new five year strategy designed to meet the rapidly changing needs of the local population and drive change and improvement for our patients, colleagues and partners.
The strategy sets out the Trust’s ambition over the next five years, detailing the ways in which we will improve the delivery and quality of care, support our workforce and embed a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
Throughout the summer and autumn of 2021, we carried out extensive engagement with colleagues, volunteers, members and service users, who told us what we should do to improve our services, our culture and our patient care.
John Brewin, Chief Executive, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust said: “It was clear at the outset that staying the same is not an option. The population we serve is growing and changing, there is significant variation in the health needs of our patient population, and increased complexity of conditions. At the same time, the availability of new technology creates opportunities for us to think differently about the way we do things.
“The strategy not only looks at how the Trust will improve and innovate but also how we take forward work in the Integrated Care System and work with our partners to reduce health inequalities and make a positive contribution to, and with, local people and communities.”
The strategy sets out a vision, and that is to make a difference to the communities we serve by delivering the highest quality physical and mental health care to our patients, and by tackling inequalities in outcomes, experience and access.
