Nottingham and Nottinghamshire health and care system declares critical incident

Information about alternatives to attending the emergency department

The health and care system in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has declared a critical incident due to continued and unprecedented pressure on its services. 

We are continuing to experience  pressure on all services, with significant levels of Covid-19 in hospitals, high numbers of patients needing care for other conditions, alongside extended waiting times for patients. 

Collectively, we are taking steps to prioritise and maintain safe services for patients and are prioritising patients with the highest level of need to help manage emergency care.
