The Trust has been given the keys to Hopewood, the brand new mental health facility for children, young people and families on Mansfield Road in Nottingham, by Kier who carried out its construction. The handover of the site means that over the next few weeks the Trust can make the finishing touches to Hopewood before opening to patients.
The £21million development includes a brand new 32 bed Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Adolescent Unit, including general acute, eating disorders and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) beds, a base for CAMHS community services and a new Education Facility for young people using the Adolescent Unit away from their own schools. Hopewood also includes a brand new 8 bed Mother and Baby Unit and base for perinatal community services.
Hopewood will replace the current Thorneywood Adolescent Unit on Porchester Road and the Mother and Baby Unit at the Queen’s Medical Centre and will provide significantly more CAMHS and perinatal beds than previously available.
