Celebrating our Allied Health Professionals

14 October is the fourth Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Day and we’re celebrating our 10 allied health professions across the Trust.  AHPs are the third largest clinical workforce in the NHS, with significant opportunities to support delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan. We’re celebrating who AHPS are; appreciating AHP skills and impact on care; inspiring our future workforce; connecting so that AHPs are included in workforce transformation and pathway redesign in systems.

AHPs’ Day is an annual opportunity for AHPs to come together and celebrate being part of the AHP family, and the day gives an opportunity to showcase to others the impact they make to the delivery of high-quality care.

The collaborations in services, organisations, trusts, regions and nationally enable:

  • Improved awareness of the role of the fourteen allied health professions
  • Showcasing the achievements of local services and their impact on patient care and population health
  • Integrated working with other services and organisations

We’ll be celebrating our AHPs internally across the Trust with a live celebration event and sharing of AHP career stories, culminating with an AHP Appreciation Awards ceremony. Visit the Trust’s Twitter account @Nottshealthcare and our AHPs Twitter account @AHPsNottsHC to see all the action during the day.

AHP Careers event

We’re also supporting an AHP Careers event with the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System (ICS) on Saturday 16 October, between 10am until 3pm, at the Vine Community Centre, Radford, Nottingham. If you’re interested in finding out more about allied health professions, then come along and hear from our very own AHPs about what inspired them to work as and AHP. They’ll also be on hand to give out lots of tips and advice.
