CAMHS Services Update
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Services Update
Here at CAMHS we are wanting to offer assurance that all services are accessible and very much open for new referrals for all young people residing in Nottinghamshire County and City. We continue to recommend that all young people are referred to CAMHS at the earliest opportunity to ensure prompt delivery of mental/emotional health assessment and intervention. The evidence tells us that early targeted care leads to better patient outcomes.
We have made some adjustments to the means in which we are delivering services currently. This predominantly includes the regular use of telephone appointments and video calls with young people at home. CAMHS continue to work with each young person according to their needs, and where possible, can adjust delivery of care to support them in accordance with their clinical presentation. Should there be a need to attend a face to face appointment, clinicians are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), maintaining the safety of all parties present. We at CAMHS recognise that this could be a bit scary for young people, but we will do everything possible to reassure and support young people should this be required.
We would like to confirm that we accept self-referrals from young people aged between 12 and 18 years old with a Nottinghamshire GP or Parent/Carers, you are able to do this online by visiting https://www.nottinghamshirehealthcare.nhs.uk/camhs-self-referral. Alternatively your GP is also able to make a referral to us on your behalf.
Please can the Designated Social Worker contact the Single Point of Access for any new referrals for Looked After Children.
