The Trust is encouraging children in the County to look after their teeth and mouth with important oral health messages, delivered through fun activities during National Smile Month between 14 May to 14 June.
National Smile Month aims to promote and raise awareness of how important it is to maintain a healthy mouth and the Trust’s Oral Health Promotion Team, better known as the ‘tooth fairies’, will be visiting various Children’s Centres, schools and libraries to deliver activities for children and families.
Activities will include Brush, Book and Bed sessions, aimed at families with under 3 year olds, which will include a story, tooth brushing and singing and ‘Tales with the Tooth Fairy’ story time sessions aimed at primary school children.
Julia Wilkinson, Senior Health Promotion Specialist (Oral Health) said: “We love taking part in National Smile Month. It is a great opportunity to reach out to our local communities and promote the key oral health messages. Good oral health is vital for a healthy smile as well as a healthy body, and we’ll be spreading this important message throughout May and June.”
