Cardio-Respiratory Team
Our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team aims to support people aged 18 and over with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or other lung problems.
If you have respiratory prolems, you can find it difficult to move around or do your normal daily activities without getting breathless. We can help you to cope with your breathlessness and to feel stronger and fitter.
After you are referred to the service, you will be invited to an assessment with the physiotherapist. If we feel this service is right for you, you will be invited to attend the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Group and given an individual exercise programme. This will be two sessions a week for six weeks and each session will last for two hours. Education and advice will be included as part of the programme.
Our team is supported by specialist community matrons who carry out oxygen assessments and have an in-depth knowledge of COPD and heart failure.
