Mindfulness for Sleep
We all know sleep is important for our bodies and minds, but for many of us sleep doesn't always come easily. Mindfulness involves bringing attention to the present moment, breaking the train of everyday thoughts and quietening the mind to help wind down for sleep. Although more research is needed, evidence suggests that mindfulness meditation may improve sleep quality. Mindful awareness throughout the day and evening may enable us to make wiser choices and consider changes in behaviours that might be affecting sleep quality.
The workshop will be led by an experienced mindfulness teacher from the Nottingham Centre for Mindfulness on MS Teams.

Mindfulness for Leaders
Leaders play a crucial role in the wellbeing of staff and effectiveness of an organisation. Whilst rewarding, being a leader brings particular responsibilities and challenges that can be highly stressful. Leaders are equally at risk of high levels of stress and other psychological wellbeing problems as the staff that they lead, yet it is recognised that it can be difficult for leaders to acknowledge this and take action to address it.
Mindfulness is recommended in the NICE guidelines for staff wellbeing, recent results from the mindfulness service here in Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust show practising mindfulness can improve wellbeing and reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
If you are interested in how mindfulness may support your wellbeing and optimise your leadership potential, then this two-hour workshop might be for you.

Living Mindfully in Later Life
Later life is a time of many changes. With them may come feelings of loss, uncertainty and fear.
Meditation can offer us opportunities to discover new ways of responding. We can learn to stay steady in the presence of difficulty, to remain open to the opportunities and possibilities inherent in change, and to treat ourselves kindly and with compassion.
This online workshop is intended to help us begin to consider how mindfulness might support us more fully at this stage of life.
- Thursday 23 January 2025, 12pm to 2pm - MS Teams
